Teacher

Better than a thousand days of diligent study is one day with a great teacher.

In 1975 my dad, Earl Jones, began building the music school with nothing more than two chairs, an office space, and faith. That business grew to be the largest private music school in NC. Although I initially tried to do everything except enter the family business, teaching became the most rewarding work I’ve ever known.

It is often said that those who can’t, teach. But that isn’t true with me. I am both a musician and a teacher and I don’t take either more seriously than the other. Each time you step into my studio, I see it as a great duet; a time when the world stays put and only music fills the space.

My teaching style is not conventional. I don’t believe in sitting down and practicing a classical piece for hours at the time. I focus on getting you playing quickly so you can develop a relationship with the instrument and with song.

I have experience with teaching beginner and advanced lessons for:

• Guitar
• Bass
• Banjo
• Fiddle/Violin
• Mandolin
• Dobro
• Steel Guitar
• Drums

• Piano
• Harmonica
• Voice
• Stage Performance
• Songwriting
• Music Therapy
• Recording Studio Skills
